GDEX 2025 Session: Progress towards #CS4ALL and how you can help | Computer Science access in Ohio is growing but there are still many challenges. Some good news is that the number of teacher preparation programs is increasing. I have done a lot of work to help math and science teachers to integrate computer science into their courses, including an initiative led by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce. A key issue is whether to require computer science as a high school graduation requirement, which will likely be debated in the state house in the next year. There are many ways for people to contribute to the expansion of computer science in Ohio from testifying on bills, to volunteering in after school programs, or maybe you should consider teaching computer science!
