Whether it's furthering your career at Dev Day or letting off some steam at the dance party, there is always something exciting to do at GDEX. Below is a list of our special events that are happening throughout the weekend, with our Event Guide available for more information.
DEV DAY
Held on the first day of GDEX, Dev Day provides those that want to get into Game Development a chance to learn from some of the best GDEX has to offer. Each Dev Day session will be 1.5 - 3 hours long, with intermediate to advanced topics on art, programming, design, and music.
This is a separate event from GDEX, and tickets can be purchased in addition to the Weekend Pass. All Access passes are also available, which includes Dev Day as well as the other events!
GDEX EXHIBITOR MIXER
The GDEX Exhibitor Mixer is an exclusive event for exhibitors, All Access, and Premier pass holders. This is an opportunity for exhibitors to get to know each other and for All Access and Premier pass holders to meet the Exhibitors without the stress of large crowds. There will be food and drinks available, as well as plenty of space to relax.
The Exhibitor Mixer is held at the Park Street Cantina on the first night of GDEX.
Speaker/Workshop Sessions
Every year GDEX features some of the best speakers, sessions, workshops, and experiences of any event in the region. We select the most interesting and informative submissions and work directly with speakers to make sure they have an experience they can be proud of. GDEX is proud to host some of the most informative, and fun workshops, panels, and presentations of any gaming event. GDEX is a great platform to share your knowledge, story, and experiences with those eager to learn. More info on the different sessions we have is below!

Sessions similar to seminars or keynotes, audience interactions tend to vary by topic and presentation.

Sessions focusing on answering questions from our audience is typically categorized as a panel. Panels typically host 3-5 speakers per panel.

Workshops lean heavily on interacting with our audience, beyond just answering questions. An example workshop could be a “Portfolio Review”.

Session Types
SPEAKER GALLERY
GDEX brings in some of the brightest individuals in the industry and thanks to them, we’re able to create an exciting learning environment for all! Below are some of our special guests, but make sure to use the button below to check out all of our speakers.
Abdallah Elayan aka Abdallah Smash is an award-winning Gaming Influencer. His channel focuses on family-friendly gaming content including tips and tricks tutorials, walkthroughs, previews, and livestreams. Abdallah is an official Nintendo brand ambassador, the 2019 Mario Marker 2 Invitational Champion and 5x PAX Stream Stars Champion.
Shesez is the Host and creator of Boundary Break - a Web series dedicated to looking at the most interesting things that can be found out of bounds in video games.
Tim Cullings(he/him) is a Seattle video games industry veteran and champion for game development and climate science and currently the Executive Director and Director of Operations at Global Game Jam, Executive Director and Board President for Seattle Indies and a Board Member for IGDA.
