GDEX 2025 Session: Silent and Deadly - How Sound Can Make and Break Your Game | Bad sound at the demo or early release stage of your game can be a huge deterrent for players; the “wrong” sounds can confuse your audience, and a lack of sound can make the beautiful worlds you’ve created feel lifeless and empty. This talk will showcase a few simple, yet effective, ideas to help make your game stand out, even at an early stage of development. By showing examples of both effective and ineffective sound design, I hope to give developers a new appreciation and understanding of the power of sound in their game so they can put their best audio foot forward.
